Medication details

PecFent is indicated for the treatment of:

  • breakthrough pain of adults already receiving opioids as a maintaining treatment of chronic cancer pain. Breakthrough pain is a temporary aggravation of pain that occurs besides otherwise controlled permanent pain. 

Patients receiving opioids as maintaining therapy are those who take at least 60 mg of oral morphine per day, at least 25 micrograms of transdermal fentanyl per hour, at least 30 mg oxycodone per day, at least 8 mg oral hydromorphone per day or an equianalgesic dose of other opioid for one week or more.
